I was watching a television programme set in a hospital emergency department. The young consultant in charge that day was describing his role. As part of this, he said the following (these may not be his exact words because even though I wrote them down immediately, I may have missed some).

In my job, every day I see people facing traumas that potentially could change their lives for ever, and watch strangers responding to one another.

I have come to the conclusion that the common threads of humanity far outweigh the differences, and that there is a universal family to which we all belong.

These words set me thinking and provided inspiration. My initial intention was to share my thoughts with you, but as I am writing, Spirit have intervened and suggested that I simply leave the words for you to consider.

So I offer his words in the hope that they may inspire each of you in the way they have me...
