New Vice-President Marie Lisseman OSNU!

A huge thank-you to all the members who voted for me! I am very humbled to be given the opportunity to serve our Union as Vice-President.

I’m a lifelong Spiritualist, having first attended my local SNU church with my parents 25 years ago. I started helping in that same church, I joined the committee, the DC and then National IM rep before being invited to join the NEC as a Director.

In my roles on the NEC, I have prioritised listening to the members and have learnt a great deal about your priorities. In a broken and divided world our Union thrives only if we collaborate with each other and move forward together.

As a Magistrate, I also know that volunteers make a difference, that is why I will be a champion for our Union’s volunteers. Now self-employed I have the time to commit to the hard work required to help our Union grow.

I bring to the post a wealth of experience, whilst working I undertook a Business Degree. This knowledge has supported my work on the NEC by ensuring we make careful financial decisions that support the important work of Churches. I bring a broad professional experience from my work in administration and my management role for a local authority. These experiences give me the skills and knowledge to support the Union’s important work. As a Magistrate, I also know that volunteers make a difference, that is why I will be a champion for our Union’s volunteers. Now self-employed I have the time to commit to the hard work required to help our Union grow.

I’ve gained much experience as a volunteer within the SNU as a Medium, Tutor, Trainer, Officiant, Chair of GPC, Assessor, National Councillor and now Ordinary Director. In my role as Vice-President I will continue to give back to the members and keep our Union moving forward!
