Breathing Techniques for Self Healing by George Moon

This booklet was written a number of years ago by the SNU Guild of Spiritualist Healers (now superseded by the SNU Healing Committee) by George Moon DSNU(h) before his passing to spirit. He was an active worker for the SNU Guild of Spiritualist Healers and the propagation of Spiritual Healing in the London area.

Breathing is normally an unconscious function of life. The average person breathes approximately fifteen times each minute, that is, fifteen complete respirations. Just as an experiment, sit quietly for a few minutes when you are not likely to be disturbed, with a clock or watch which has a second hand, just to see for yourself how many complete respiration’s you make in a minute. Just breathe naturally and you will probably find that you are doing fifteen to twenty respirations per minute. Alright, so this is your normal rhythm, this is your natural, unconscious rhythm of breath which is peculiar to you. You do this every day without thinking about it.

The object of this booklet is to get you to find a new rhythm, a slower rhythm, which again is personal to your own nervous sensibilities and lung capacity, Apart from saying that it must be slower than your normal rhythm, it is impossible to say how many respiration’s you should make each minute. This is for YOU to discover. It is entirely up to you to find a rhythm which suits you, but the aim is to reduce the number of breaths per minute from the normal frequency of fifteen or so.
