Over recent months there has been a lot of speculation over the impending changes. This Healing News is designed to dispel all the rumours

 and give you the facts!

Issued February 2019

This year will see the biggest changes in healing training within the SNU since the days of the Guild. The new Healing Accreditation Scheme for overseas students will be implemented in March and during the months of April to June each of the fourteen district councils will be visited by representatives from the Exponents Committee to launch the new scheme.

Over recent months there has been a lot of speculation over the impending changes. This Healing News is designed to dispel all the rumours and give you the facts! If you are an existing Accredited Healing Medium, the changes will not affect you. If you are an existing Trainee Healing Medium, you will be able to choose to either continue with the current scheme which you are already enrolled on or transfer to the new scheme.

A New Scheme

The new Healing Accreditation Scheme will affect all new registrations going forward from the date each DC is visited. TO BE CLEAR, ALL EXISTING HEALING MEDIUMS WILL NOT BE AFFECTED BY THE CHANGE, AND TRAINEES CAN CHOOSE TO CHANGE TO THE NEW SCHEME OR CONTINUE IN THE SCHEME THEY ARE ALREADY ENROLLED ON.

Theoretical & Practical

For the first time we are linking the theoretical and the practical parts of the training. At present it is possible for someone to register and start hands-on practice in a church or centre without any knowledge of the theory behind it. Would you allow a trainee doctor to see patients before they learn something about medicine? Would you allow a trainee electrician to rewire your house before they learn how it is done?

New Programme

The new training programme will go through a cycle of Theory > Practice > Test and then repeat itself until final upgrade assessment. The following is the basis of the new training programme:

Attend 5 pre-healing training sessions in your church or centre;

Start H1;

Start the practical training;

After completing 10 practical sessions and sections 1 and 2 of H1 attend a DC training day 1.

This is then repeated:

After 20 practical sessions and completing sections 3 and 4 of H1 attend DC training day 2.

After 30 practical sessions and completing sections 5 and 6 of H1 attend DC training day 3.

After 40 practical sessions and completing sections 7 of H1 attend DC training day 4.

After completing 50 practical sessions and completing H1 attend a final assessment board.

On each of the DC training days there will be a short multi-choice test on the sections of H1 the trainee has completed. DC training day 4 will also include a mock final assessment board so that we can identify areas that the trainee needs help with before they attend the final board.

Already a Trainee?

If you are already a trainee you can choose to continue with the existing system and go on to compete the 100 practical sessions and attend three DC review days. Or, you can change to the new system as follows:

If you have completed less than 50 practical sessions:

  • You can elect to transfer to the new scheme and be credited with the practical sessions already completed.
  • Attend 5 pre-healing sessions.
  • On completion of 50 sessions the conditions below apply.

If you have already completed more than 50 practical sessions –

and:

  • When you have completed H1;
  • If you have already attended 2 or 3 old DC review days, you must attend the 4th new training day;
    • if you have only attended 1 old DC review day, you must attend the 3rd and 4th new DC training days;
    • if you have not attended any DC review days, you must attend all 4 new DC training days.

You can then apply for your final assessment board. The choice is entirely up to you. No one will be made to do anything they have not already agreed to do.

Presentation

Trainees registering after the new scheme is introduced in their DC area will start on the new scheme. To help churches, centres and district councils the Exponents Committee will be issuing, free of charge, training aids and training manuals. Churches and centres will each receive an A4 presenter with trainers' notes and DCs an A3 presenter with accompanying notes. These will be issued on the DC implementation days. It is important that each church and centre that operates a healing group sends representatives to this event.

Focus

The focus of the new scheme is the attunement with spirit, teaching trainees how to be the best healing medium they can be.
