We aim to compile a complete music library of all the hymns in our dark blue and slim, light blue SNU hymn books. This music library will be available so that Spiritualist churches may select the hymn music they like and we can produce CDs recordings tailored to their needs. With over 300 hymns this would seem like a huge task and we seek help from organists and from members who can help with recording and with processing the recordings. We do not ask individual organists to record all hymn tunes, instead choose a few you are fond of and that you play well. If possible arrange for a good quality recording, or we may be able to help you to record your music. Email perry@snu.org.uk if you can help. We hope to make available a choice of music styles and different instrument sounds. Church committees and members will have a choice of good music to enhance the Spiritualist church service experience. An example of some music library entries are below. |
Working together, with help from organists and sound recording volunteers we should be able to record every hymn in the SNU hymn books and make them easily available to SNU churches and centres. Music can bring energy, harmony and spiritual upliftment to our churches. Our hymns contain some wonderful words and good music helps people to appreciate the meaning and brings joy to the process of singing. With a library containing a choice of hymn music playing styles and instruments we will help to improve the experience people get when they enter our churches and centres. |
