Ministers Administration Committee (MAC)

The Ministers Administration Committee (MAC) reports to the National Executive Committee (NEC). The MAC has responsibility for all matters in connection with the Ministership and the positions of Officiant and Approved Celebrant within the SNU. MAC duties include :-
  • Appoint Ministers Assessment Panels to assess approved candidates for the Ministership. Report to the NEC on recommendations for appointments.
  • Train and assess approved candidates.
  • Arrange for the ordination of Ministers and services of acceptance for Officiants and Approved Celebrants.
  • Issue documentation and provide supervision and training following appointment.
  • Appointing Regional Superintendent Ministers.
  • Review annually all Ministers, Officiants and Approved Celebrants.
  • Investigate and report on complaints.
  • Formulate and revise procedures for assessment for the Ministership.
  • Hold conferences and refresher courses for Ministers, Officiants and Approved Celebrants.
The MAC trains, appoints, monitors and supports all SNU Ministers and Officiants.

SNU Ministers
The Ministership of the SNU is granted to those who have been selected as worthy to represent Spiritualism by their educational qualifications, practical ability and good example they give as Ministers of Religion.

Officiant (OSNU)
The appointment of Officiant is granted to those who have completed relevant courses of study and who are considered capable of conducting services such as marriages, funerals and naming ceremonies.
