The Spiritualists' Lyceum Union

The Spiritualists Lyceum Union promotes the study and practice of Spiritualism as a Science, a Philosophy and a Religion and aims to establish and foster Lyceums for this purpose. Lyceums work within Spiritualist Churches and the main objectives are :-
  • To provide for the social, cultural and physical recreation
     of its members.
  • Encourage spiritual education and welfare of children and adults.
  • Establish Lyceums and ensure they recognise and fulfil their allegiance and loyalty to their churches.
  • Ensure that training given in Lyceums is on sound progressive lines.
  • Promote a common loyalty to the Spiritualist Movement as a whole.
  • Publish the Lyceum Banner.
  • Holds Annual General Meetings.

The British Spiritualists’ Lyceum Union was founded in 1890. In 1948 it was incorporated as a Branch of the SNU with special responsibility for the education and training of the young. Its affairs are administered by the Central Committee elected by members attending the Annual General Meeting from those who have accepted valid postal election in accordance with Bye Laws E.

Local affairs are delegated, where practicable, to District Representatives who are appointed by the Central Committee and sit on the District Council Executive Committees.
