The Spiritualists Lyceum Union promotes the study and practice of Spiritualism as a Science, a Philosophy and a Religion and aims to establish and encouraged Lyceums throughout the United Kingdom for this purpose. Each Lyceum provides education and training in the principles of the religion and religious philosophy of Spiritualism and in the principles of good citizenship.

Objectives of the Spiritualists' Lyceum Union

SNU Bye-laws E Part 1. Preliminary

(1)     To promote and advance the religion and religious philosophy of Spiritualism which is understood to recognise the following Principles:-

(a)     The Fatherhood of God.
(b)     The Brotherhood of Man.
(c)     The Communion of Spirits and the Ministry of Angels.
(d)     The continuous existence of the human soul.
(e)     Personal responsibility.
(f)     Compensation and retribution hereafter for all the good and evil deeds done on earth; and
(g)     Eternal progress open to every human soul.

(2)     To promote the study and practice of Spiritualism as a science, a philosophy and a religion, and to establish and foster Lyceums for this purpose.

(3)     To stimulate in connection with the activities of Lyceums and of Spiritualist Churches, suitable provision for the social and cultural integration of its members.

(4)     To encourage Spiritualist Churches to recognise their responsibility for the spiritual education and welfare of children and adults and their duty to establish Lyceums for the purpose of discharging this responsibility.

(5)     To ensure that Lyceums recognise and fulfil their fundamental allegiance and loyalty to their parent churches, where such exist.

(6)     To secure that the training given in Lyceums shall be on sound progressive lines and such as to promote a common loyalty to the Spiritualist Movement as a whole.

(7)     To maintain the publication of the Lyceum Banner, the official organ of the Lyceum Union.
