Church Insurance

The SNU recommends that all its member churches and centres organise their insurance through Glen Insurance Consultants. Glen Insurance aims to achieve the lowest possible rates for SNU church insurance for the highest amount of cover.

Below is listed a number of benefit for churches should they allow Glen Insurance to act as their insurance broker.

Glen Insurance has negotiated preferential rates with a number of insurers on behalf of the SNU. Therefore, each year at renewal (or at the end of the long term agreement) they will negotiate to obtain the best possible deal with existing church insurers or get alternative quotes with other insurers. Glen Insurance feels confident that they can maintain or improve insurance cover whilst reducing cost.

Note, that whilst churches are in the middle of a long term agreement, Glen Insurance can not move the insurance to an alternative insurer, however, there are savings that may be made with the existing insurer.

Glen Insurance are able to advise on other areas of insurance cover that may have been overlooked by the church (you don’t know what you don’t know if you see what I mean) For example, business interruption cover or trustees' indemnity insurance. Glen Insurance would never change a policy without discussing it with the church first, but they can identify shortfalls in cover and ensure that the church is properly insured.

Glen Insurance's advice is completely independent. When you deal with an insurance company direct they are not allowed to advise on areas of cover. For example, an insurance company may tell you how much accidental damage cover would cost your church but they are not allowed to comment on whether it is advisable or whether its appropriate for your church.

Glen Insurance would handle claims. This is normally a very stressful time for any church and some find that the claims process is complicated and confusing. Glen Insurance will handle the negotiation with the insurer and ensure that the church receives the maximum settlement that they are entitled to. Glen Insurance's service is free with no additional administration charges to the church.

By insuring through Glen Insurance Consultants then the SNU centrally receives a small commission, with no additional cost to our churches.
SNU Churches are asked to allow Glen Insurance Consultants to act as their insurance brokers.

The church committee agree and sign a ‘transfer of agency’ letter. This letter is sent to Anne Daultry at Stansted.

We then request that your  existing insurer transfers your file to Glen Insurance.

At renewal Glen Insurance will look at the premium and see whether there are any savings to be made. If at the end of the Long Term Agreement, then Glen Insurance will look at other insurers to see if there are cheaper alternatives.
