
Description of the various Awards issues by the SNU
Diploma (DSNU)
A Diploma holder has completed a combination of SNU education courses,
shown a high degree of practical ability, and passed Boards of Assessment.
The Boards seeks, by interview, oral testing and examination of
practical work, to assess the candidate's suitability for a diploma.
Certificate of Recognition
(CSNU)
A Certificate holder has completed some SNU education courses, shown
practical ability, and passed Boards of Assessment. The Boards seeks, by
interview, oral testing and examination of practical work, to assess the
candidate's suitability for a Certificate of Recognition.
Platform Accreditation Scheme
(PAS)
A PAS holder has past at least some basic SNU education courses,
successfully taken part in 8 intensive training sessions, and passed
various practical assessments.
Fellowship of the SNU (FSNU)
The SNU's highest academic award, granted to SNU Diploma holders who show exceptional knowledge of the religion, philosophy or
science of Spiritualism.
Applicants for the Fellowship must submit a thesis of at least 10,000
words, of exceptional standard, and suitable for publication on a subject connected
with Spiritualism.
Teachers Diploma (TSNU)
The award of Approved Teacher is granted in various classes to those who
have passed both the theory and practical elements of the prescribed
teacher training course.
Service Awards
Gold Service Award (GSSNU)
Granted to Spiritualists who have served Spiritualism, at National,
Branch, District or Church level, for at least 50 years.
Long
Service Award (LSSNU)
Granted to Spiritualists with 25 years service to the SNU at National,
Branch, District or Church level.
Candidates Service Awards must have been
a SNU class B member or a member of an affiliated or associated SNU
church.
Recommendations for service awards must be submitted from churches via District Councils and Branches
of the Union.
