Healing Committee

The Healing Committee reports directly to the National Executive Committee (NEC) and its chairman has a seat on the NEC. The Healing Committee has responsibility for all matters in connection with Spiritualist Healing within the SNU and its affiliated Churches and Centres. The Healing Committee duties include :-
  • Promote and encourage the practice, study and investigation of the art and science of spiritual healing.
  • Working as far as possible in co-operation with the medical profession.
  • Encourage and support Churches and other affiliated bodies to commence and maintain Spiritual Healing Groups.
  • Registration of Trainee and Approved Healers and the issue of membership cards.
  • Assessment and upgrading of Trainee Healers to Approved Healer status.
  • Maintain records of all Registered Healers and continuous regulation of its healers.
  • Assists in the training of of potential Spiritualist Healers and formulated training programmes.
  • Administer the healing insurance scheme.
  • Working along side other healing organisations, particularly with UK Healers, to formulate national standards for healing.

The Healing Committee is responsible for the registration and administration of Spiritualist healers within the SNU. It promotes and encourages the practice, study, and investigation into the art and science of spiritual healing. Where it can, it co-operates with the medical profession and encourages Spiritualist Churches to run Healing Groups in accordance with SNU guidelines.

All the registered SNU Healers must follow the SNU Healing Code of Conduct. Copies are available for £1, order from the Healing Office.

The Healing Committee is assisted at local level by 'District Healing Committees,' one in each of the 14 regions of the SNU. At district councils a Healing leader is elected annually and the appointed person organises the local Healing Committee.
